Biggest Winner From Day One of Free Agency | Who made the best move?

JC Jackson
JC Jackson received a huge pay day yesterday by the Los Angeles Chargers. He should be happy because he returns with this high school teammate Derwin James. Free Agency continues today!

Free Agency opened yesterday and there were tons of moves made. Some teams spent some major money. Some teams made smart moves, to add a player or two at a position of need, but we are here to talk about the team that won the first day.

Let’s look at three teams we feel won the first day of Free Agency. If you want to see every move made in Free Agency yesterday, you can on our Transactions page for Yesterday. Now, let’s get to the winners!

Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow and the Bengals were in the Super Bowl this year, they fought like hell, but they needed to improve their offensive line. That was super obvious, Burrow was sacked more than any quarterback ever in a playoff game and still found a way to pull off the win. The Bengals went out and beefed up their line. They signed Alex Cappa to a four year 40 million dollar deal and then turned around and signed another OL in Ted Karras to a three year deal wroth 18 million. Last year, Mahomes and the Chiefs did the same thing. The Bengals however were able to keep BJ Hill yesterday and that was what ultimately put them on this list. They did a great job overall!

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers want to win it all and they are spending their money like it. They went out yesterday and signed cornerback JC Jackson to a very rich contract worth up to 82.5 million dollars. With Jackson, Derwin James, Asante Samuel and Chris Harris (if they can somehow re-sign him) they will be pretty damn impressive. The Chargers then still found away to add two defensive tackles. The Bolts added Austin Johnson from the Giants and Sebastian Joseph-Day. The Chargers got better today on defense, and they are already stacked on offense. This team is going to give the AFC West a run for their money. Chargers made Free Agency look easy!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tom Brady maybe the best General Manager in the country. He announced he was coming back for his 23rd season and has already had the Buccaneers players running back to stay in town. Brady helped the Bucs re-sign OC Ryan Jensen, Carlton Davis and there are rumors that Gronk could be coming back as well. Tom Brady will likely restructure his contract to ensure the team has more money to sign more players. Brady and the Buccaneers continue to do it. He continues to amaze me. He is such an unselfish person. Big win for the Bucs and Bruce Arians.
