Odell Beckham Jr. expected to be released today?
According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, The Cleveland Browns are expected to release star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The Browns could not trade him before the trade deadline, and now they have excused him two days in a row.
According to Pro Football Talk, the move is expected to be happened today. The move will reduce the team’s obligation to pay Beckham Jr., and if he is not claimed on waivers and becomes eligible for the balance of his salary termination pay.
If he does in fact clear waivers he can sign anywhere.
Teams will be lined up to sign Beckham Jr. In 2016, he became the fastest player in NFL history to reach both 200 career receptions and 4,000 career receiving yards. In 2016, he recorded his first 100-reception season and reached the NFL playoffs for the first time in his career, after helping the Giants to an 11–5 season record. Beckham was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons and has been named a second-team All-Pro twice.
