CFL defensive lineman Chris Larsen is being investigated for allegedly beating an LGBTQ community member close to death

Chris Larsen the defensive lineman for the Ottawa Redblacks has been suspended by the CFL while the team and police investigate a very serious allegation that left a member of the Toronto Island LGBTQ community with significant injuries.
According to police reports, A 24-year-old man and a 27 year old woman were walkin near the ferry docks when there was a disagreement with a group of people. That is when 2 men from the group began beating David Gomez a member of the LGBTQ community.
Gomez had a crowdfunding page set up for him where he has already almost raised 35,000 dollars. He was knocked unconscious, and suffered a broken nose, cheekbone and orbital bone. He also suffered a concussion and hip injury.
The CFL’s Ottawa Redblacks posted this response on their social media page.
I cannot see Larsen sticking around on Ottawa but this is not a smart move by Larsen if he did in fact hurt Mr. Gomez. Thankfully Mr. Gomez will live.
