Draft Diamonds Free Agent Interview: JoJo Gause, Wide Receiver
Hello, I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL, CFL, and XFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. So I hope you all read this interview and follow his journey on Twitter @JGause_!
1.If your life was a tv show what would you call it and why?
My tv show would be called “1 of 1” because in my life I personally believe in God and that what is meant to be will prosper in my life. I can only control what I can control and there will be adversity that comes into my life but me as one person can conquer it 1 day at a time.
2.What is your favorite stadium that you have played in?
Syracuse Carrier Dome has been my favorite stadium to ever play in so far.
3.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?
My mindset is to be the best teammate on the field and do my job the best that I can in each play that I am in.
4.Rank focus, footwork and skill based on what is most important to you as a football player and explain why?
Focus, skill, then footwork in that order are most important because your focus/effort makes everything work. Talent and skill only take you so far in football and life in general.
5.What is your favorite workout?
Eccentric BB squats
6. What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Becoming MVP of one of my college games vs CALU senior year, and still not scoring any touchdowns but knowing that I was doing all of the little things to become the most valuable player that day.
7.What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?
I bring that impacting energy that can make the BIG and needed plays in a game, great communication as well.
8.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
First of all, I come from a football family but my brother Quentin Gause truly inspired me and I love the camaraderie that football brings.
9.What has been your biggest challenge in life?
My biggest challenge in life is learning how to become the best teammate while also achieving success for me. This was tough because I wanted to obtain my stats and catches while winning. I learned that even if you aren’t getting catches you can be happy for your teammates as well while winning.
10.What would a team get in a player like you?
An intelligent player that is trying to find ways to make plays on the field and also a GREAT character guy in the locker room and a playmaker on the field.
11.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Keenan Allen is a tall, quick, and fundamentally sound playmaker. He also is a gamer and I am the same way so it would be good vibes chilling with one of the top WRs in the NFL.
12.What do you hope to achieve as a football player going forward?
I want to continue to grow my legacy on any team that I play for and also impact my teammates in any way possible because football is a brotherhood!
