Free Agent defensive back Devonte Mc’Namee recently sat down with NFL Draft Diamonds writer Justin Berendzen. Check out his recent interview.

Hello, I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL, CFL, and XFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. 1.What do you do for fun?

Mostly just workout, I’m always dancing, you might catch me drawing sometimes, play video games, and also reading books.

2.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Odell Beckham Jr., he has a fun personality like me. He’s very passionate about what he does. He wears his heart on his sleeve and goes out there and competes at a high level while having fun.

3.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?

My mindset is taking it one play at a time, control what I can control, and being calm in all situations.

4.What is your favorite stadium that you have played in?

Rose Stadium, my School’s energy that they bring whether it’s a football game, basketball, etc. is crazy. Shoutout to the home team Texas College.

5.If your life was a tv show what would you call it and why?

A rose that grew up from the concrete, my life was hard I had alot of situations that I had to overcome.

6.What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I bring excitement, my teammates tell me I’m always amped up and loud. Ready to put on a show, always having fun, and a high motor guy.

7.What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moment is being able to bond with teammates (Texas College, JuCo) being able to shed my blood, sweat, and tears with those guys.

8.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I went to a church in Carrollton called Calvary Church and met Nate Jones who was playing for the Cowboys at the time.

9.What has been your biggest challenge in life?

My JuCo year I had to fly out from Texas to California and being in California was hard. We had to find ways to provide for ourselves from housing to getting food plus transportation to school. A big shoutout to my Auntie because she was supporting me the whole way.

10.What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get a leader out of me, someone whose coachable and willing to help my teammates out any possible way.

11.What do you hope to achieve as a football player going forward?

Just being the best player on the field and giving my all. I want my teammates to say that I gave everything to help them win.

12.What is your favorite workout?

Anything that deals with plyometrics and anything that makes me explosive.
