XFL has began sending out Supplemental Draft Invites
XFL Commissioner and CEO Oliver Luck mentioned the XFL would potentially hold a supplemental draft in November to cover college players and players cut from NFL teams.
The supplemental draft will likely be used to fill the void left by players choosing not to sign with the XFL after hearing about the $55,000 per season they would receive from the upstart league, like Corey Vereen who decided to stick to his profession outside of football after learning about the pay.,
Right now there have been over a dozen players that were drafted in the XFL signed to NFL practice squad rosters. This will be interesting to see how it works. Remember several teams failed to draft a punter, kicker or long snapper, so the Supplemental Draft will help them fill their roster.
PJ Locke was the first player to receive a Supplemental Draft invite that we have noticed so far.
