2017 NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes: Samaje Perine, RB, Oklahoma
2017 NFL Draft Scouting Notes.Samaje Perine. RB. 5’11 237 Lbs. (Junior) Oklahoma
The Positives.
1) Physical hard nosed runner
2) Runs with good power
3) Runs with good balance
4) Shows ability to break tackles
The Negatives.
1) Ok not great speed
2) Decent blocker but could improve
Samaje Perine is an aggressive hard nosed pounding running back. He runs with good power, and has a good burst to get through the hole. Perine runs with good balance and has good but not great speed. He has shown the ability to make a good block in pass protection but hasn’t been called on a lot yet to do so. He only caught 15 balls last year but he does have good soft hands. Perineum averaged 6.0 yards per carry last season running for 1,349 yards, and did 16 TD’s. With another highly productive season and again showing the ability to stay healthy, I would expect Samaje Perine to be an early round pick should he decide to enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
