NFL Draft Diamonds Prospect Breakdown: Jalen Reeves-Maybin, LB, Tennessee
Jalen Reeves-Maybin-6’0 230 lbs., LB (SR.)-University of Tennessee
Jalen Reeves-Maybin is a Linebacker built into a Safeties body. A lean 6’0 230 lbs., Reeves-Maybin fits the profile of the prototype weak-side linebacker in today’s NFL. JRM possesses the speed and instincts to be an immediate contributor as a WILL Linebacker in a 4-3 or Tampa 2 defensive scheme. Reeves-Maybin also possesses the skill set to stay on the field for obvious passing situations. Whether it be covering the Tight End or Running Back out of the backfield, JRM will be on the field. He does not look to have natural pass-rushing ability, but the position he projects to at the next level does not depend on it. Overall, JRM has the tools to be a late first round pick.
