Jets signed veteran cornerback and claimed lineman from the Steelers

dee millinerToday the New York Jets were very busy trying to fill the void of losing both Dee Milliner, and Brian Winters who were injured in their loss yesterday.  The Jets claimed Wesley Johnson the former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman from the waiver wire, and signed veteran cornerback Josh Thomas who was formerly with the Seattle Seahawks.

Thomas (5’11”, 185) was a free agent signing. He was originally a fifth-round pick (143rd overall) by Dallas in the 2011 draft out of Buffalo. He was a final cut of the Cowboys that year but went to Carolina on waivers and made four starts for the Panthers in 2012 and six in 2013. He has one career interception, coming at Miami last year.

Johnson (6’5″, 297) was acquired on waivers from Pittsburgh. He was also a fifth round draft pick (173rd overall), by the Steelers in May out of Vanderbilt and was just placed on waivers by them.
