New York Giants claim small school standout off waiver wire
Today the New York Giants claimed a very special wide receiver off the waiver wire in Corey Washington. While many might not know who he is, the Charleston, South Carolina native is a big player with a huge heart. Washington was a key part of the Newberry program, and one of the best all around athletes on the field. Today the Giants claimed him from the wide receiver packed Arizona Cardinals.
He believes he is a mixture of A.J. Green and Randy Moss, and I don’t think his assessment is too far off, when it comes to size, speed and hands. While those two players are extremely special, Washington too could be a huge target. We had a Draft Interview with Washington and you can read it here.
Washington is a 6’4, 200 pound wide out with great speed and hands, he might come in and shock a bunch of people. This was a great waiver wire pick up. To make room for Washington the team released guard Stephen Goodin.
