Expect Matthew Stafford to shine with the coaches in Detroit
Jim Caldwell has truly been trying to put coaches around Matthew Stafford to make him better. Today the Lions hired Jim Bob Cooter who previously worked with Lions head coach Jim Caldwell in Indianapolis and spent this past season as an offensive assistant with the Denver Broncos.
Cooter was a key part of the offense’s game-planning infrastructure given his work in preparing scouting reports on opposing defenses, his ability to spot trends and potential matchups on gameday and his day-to-day work with Peyton Manning.
Before joining the Broncos staff, Cooter spent one season as a quality control coach in Kansas City and three years as an offensive assistant under new Lions coach Jim Caldwell in Indianapolis.
Cooter, 29, is a former backup quarterback at University of Tennessee. I expect Matthew Stafford to succeed with the coaches put around him.
