Cam Newton could be held out today
Appearing on NFL GameDay First, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports coach Ron Rivera is considering holding Cam Newton (ribs) out of Sunday’s Week 1 tilt with the Bucs.
If Newton is in fact held out, Derek Anderson would be the starter. This could not fair well for the Panthers.
