Zay Flowers Injury Update: Ravens will not let Zay play week 2, and that is smart

The Baltimore Ravens made the right decision with Zay Flowers.
According to Dr. Jesse Morse of Injury Expertz, it would be too risky for Flowers to play this week after the star wide receiver aggravated a hamstring injury in the Ravens’ season opener.
Baltimore ultimately downgraded Flowers from doubtful to out for Sunday’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints, a decision that could prove extremely important for the rest of the season.
Flowers was spectacular in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts, catching five passes for 150 yards and a touchdown before the hamstring injury forced him out of the game.
The problem is that this isn’t necessarily a brand-new issue.
Flowers had already missed two weeks during training camp because of a hamstring injury. He returned for the regular season opener, but then aggravated the same area during the game.
That history is exactly why rushing him back would have been dangerous.
