Nico Collins Injury Update: Texans Star WR is out for Week 2?

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins suffered a hamstring injury during Wednesday’s practice, and his availability for Sunday’s matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals is now in question.

According to reports, Collins underwent further evaluation after leaving practice, and team doctors do not believe the injury is serious. An MRI reportedly revealed a Grade 1 hamstring strain, which is generally considered the least severe classification of hamstring injury.

The concern for Houston, however, is the timing. Collins did not practice Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. The Texans’ official injury report lists him with a hamstring injury and no participation Thursday.

Collins is coming off an impressive Week 1 performance against the Buffalo Bills, catching seven passes on 10 targets for 75 yards and a touchdown. Dr. Jesse Morse of Injury Expertz breaks down the injury.
