Prediction: Drake Maye Goes Off as Patriots Take Down Seahawks 24-14 in Season Opener

The New England Patriots are getting a chance to make a statement right out of the gate, and I believe Drake Maye is going to make the most of it.

In a highly anticipated rematch of Super Bowl LX, the Patriots travel to Seattle to take on the defending champion Seahawks. While Seattle enters the season with plenty of confidence, New England has a quarterback who appears ready to take another major step forward.

My prediction: Patriots 24, Seahawks 14.

I expect Maye to play with confidence, make plays outside the pocket and take advantage of the additional weapons surrounding him. With A.J. Brown now giving the Patriots another legitimate playmaker on the outside, Maye has the opportunity to put together a big performance against a Seattle defense that will be looking to pressure him early.

This time, however, I expect Maye to be much more composed against the Seahawks’ pass rush.

The Patriots’ defense should also play a major role in this one. New England needs to limit Seattle’s explosive passing attack and force the Seahawks to consistently drive the football. If the Patriots can create a couple of turnovers and win the field-position battle, they can control the game.

I expect this game to be close early before Maye and the Patriots pull away in the second half.
