8 Man Heisman Race

The Heisman race is always exciting, but this year has 8 guys who will compete for the Heisman and possibly the #1 overall pick. The list goes on, starting with Darian Mensah, who put on a show on Friday against Stanford throwing for 400 yards and 5 touchdowns in only 3 quarters. Next is Malachi Toney and Jeremiah Smith, who are undoubtedly the best 2 wide receivers in the nation, and will go band for band each week competing for the Heisman.

Then there is the next 5 Quarterbacks, Arch Manning, Dante Moore, Julian Sayin, CJ Carr and Trinidad Chambliss, who are all leading their teams to a possible national championship, while trying to boost their draft stock.

LSU is Back

The Tigers came out on Saturday Night with a bang, dominating the whole game on both sides of the ball. It started with ASU transfer Quarterback Sam Leavitt, he threw for 230 yards, 1 touchdown and had 113 yards on the ground with 2 scores which was his main weapon.

Their defense was on fire, lead by Whit Weeks who had 6 tackles and 1 TFL. Also, Princewill Umanmielen was making the Clemson line look silly, as he had 2 huge sacks. LSU looked great scoring 51 points against a not so good Clemson team, but the bigger test will come week 3 when they take on Lane Kiffin’s former Ole Miss Rebels.

Miami is the at the Top of the Food Chain in the ACC

Miami was one of the only teams who played a power 5 school this week, and they did not disappoint, winning 45-6. The hurricane defense lost stars Rueben Bain and Ahkeem Mesidor, but returned Marquise Lightfoot, Ahmad Moten, Justin Scott, OJ Frederique and Bryce Fitzgerald, who is a elite defensive core that only let up 6 points.

Offensively, their run game had not gotten going against Stanford, with Fletcher only having 40 yards on the ground. Once they can figure out the run game, they will be unstoppable with Mensah, Toney and Fletcher.

Ohio State Vs Texas will be One for the Ages

Texas and Ohio State both played low level teams, and as excepted looked like the best teams in the country. The Buckeyes defense will see their first test of the year going up against a stacked Texas offense led by Arch Manning and Cam Coleman, and a run game with Raleek Brown and Hollywood Smothers.

The key for Ohio State on offense will be to block star Defensive End Colin Simmons, and get the ball to their playmakers like Jeremiah Smith, Bo Jackson and breakout transfer Devin McCuin.
