Breaking: Detroit Lions Release Former First-Round Pick Terrion Arnold Following Arrest
Several NFL teams interested in ex-Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold

Free-agent cornerback Terrion Arnold is continuing to draw interest from NFL teams despite facing multiple felony charges stemming from an alleged kidnapping incident in Florida last month.

During a court hearing on Friday, Arnold’s agent, Nicole Lynn, testified that four teams have contacted her about the former Detroit Lions first-round pick since his release. According to reports, those teams are the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, Houston Texans, and Indianapolis Colts.

Lynn told the court that Arnold recently completed a workout with the Texans, who flew him to their facility and conducted a physical examination as part of the evaluation process.

“He actually had a workout with the team, an NFL team, just yesterday,” Lynn testified. “So he was in their facility, they paid for him to fly in, he did a physical, which shows you how serious these teams are about him. With an ankle monitor, it would be extremely difficult and maybe even impossible for him to get a job.”

Arnold’s legal team argued that requiring him to wear a GPS ankle monitor while awaiting trial could significantly hinder his ability to sign with an NFL team. Lynn added that she believes there is “a very good likelihood” Arnold will be signed within the next 45 days, while acknowledging that no deal is currently in place.

“There is no contract or verbal agreement with any team at this time,” Lynn testified.

The Detroit Lions waived Arnold shortly after he was charged with eight felony counts related to the Florida case. He cleared waivers on Monday, making him an unrestricted free agent eligible to sign with any NFL club.

Arnold was selected by Detroit in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft after a standout collegiate career at Alabama, where he established himself as one of the nation’s top defensive backs. His NFL future now remains uncertain as teams weigh his talent against the ongoing legal proceedings.
