What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I decided I wanted to be a football player simply because of my love for the game. I started playing flag football and just knew it was what I wanted to do. At 9, I started tackle football and began to see what it was like to practice, watch film, learn plays, and put it all together to win on Saturdays. I really fell in love with the process and, of course, winning on Saturdays. Little league football is really big in South Florida, so it was always a great environment with great competition. That love I have for the game hasn’t faded at all. It has only grown deeper. The more I learn about football, the more I want to be a football player.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moments from my football life come from every stage of my career. Winning championship rings in flag football at Dolphin Academy camps. Scoring seven touchdowns in one game and my parents buying me Madden 13 when I played for the Davie Broncos. Competing at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and being the third-best Pop Warner team in the nation in my age group when I played for the Parkland Rangers. Winning the FHSAA 5A State Championship as a junior at Cardinal Gibbons High School. And winning the CUSA Conference Championship my last year of college football at Kennesaw State University.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

A Super Bowl championship is what I’m looking to achieve as a football player. I want to be able to say I won a championship at the highest level of football you can play.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

I would hang out with my father, Donnell Bennett Jr. My dad played in the NFL for eight years. He spent seven seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and one season with the Washington Commanders. I chose my dad because he continues to teach me how to be a better man and a better football player every day. He motivates me to be better than him one day. Although I spend many days with my dad, I’m always looking forward to the next day I can spend learning from him.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

I’m really family-oriented, so I don’t know if I can pick just one person. I’m inspired in different ways by different people. My little brother, cousins, and nephews inspire me to be a better man and athlete because I know they are watching me and aspire to be like me one day. My older brothers and cousins inspire me through their work ethic and leadership. My parents, uncles, aunties, and grandparents inspire me to become the type of people they are and then surpass them, leaving behind for the next generation what they left for me.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

My favorite offensive scheme as a running back is any offense that utilizes the running back in a variety of ways. I’ve had the privilege of playing in a pro-style offense at Rice University. In that offense, the back lined up in I-formation, offset in the gun, and even split out at receiver at times. There were a lot of power and duo plays, which I love to run, so that was a great offense to play in. I also enjoyed playing in the veer and shoot offense at Kennesaw State University. Most people think it’s pass-heavy, but it’s actually close to 50-50 when you look at the numbers after the season. That offense creates a lot of light boxes, which is always great to see as a running back. Those are just two examples of my favorite offensive schemes.

What should we know about Coleman Bennett the person?

I live by three principles: faith, family, and football. I earned my master’s degree in Public Administration with a 4.0 GPA from Kennesaw State University in December 2025. I take pride in discipline, preparation, and leadership and am ready to contribute to any team that gives me an opportunity.

What stands out about your film the most?

What stands out the most about my film is my ability to make defenders miss in space. My speed to create explosive plays. My strength to finish runs. And my vision to set up blocks and find holes.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I handle challenges by leaning on my faith. I pray for guidance and clarity, and I trust God’s plan. Challenges build character, and I embrace that.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team will get a competitor, a leader, and a reliable teammate who works every day and does whatever it takes to win.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love that the game of football is constantly evolving. There’s always something new to learn. That constant growth is what keeps me hungry.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

My older brother, Donnell Bennett III. He played linebacker sideline to sideline, defended the run and pass, had a high football IQ, and made an impact on special teams. He did everything you want from a complete football player.
