Drake Maye,, Mike Vrabel, Stefon Diggs, Milton Williams and the New England Patriots face CJ Stroud, Will Anderson Jr, Demeco Ryans and the Houston Texans in a huge AFC Divisional Round matchup. Derek Stingley Jr is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL he’ll be matched up with Stefon Diggs or Mack Hollins, Kayshon Boutte.
Besides Derek Stingley, Kamari Lassiter in his own right is a likely also a top 10 corner in the league and will make life very difficult on the Steelers receivers with Azeez Al-Shair in the middle laying waste to any ill advised throws and Calen Bullock roaming behind him.
The Texans defensive line has a great opportunity to dominate the trenches, Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson are the best edge duo in the league. The Nico Collins concussion likely keeps him out of this game and the Christian Gonzalez concussion takes the Patriots best defensive back off the field so it becomes a wash.
CJ Stroud will now throw to Dalton Schultz as his number 1 target or Jayden Higgins the number 2 without Nico Collins for the Texans offense, the roles of Nick Chubb and Woody Marks become exceedingly bigger for the Texans offense. TreVeyon Henderson will be popcorn to watch as the rookie has been very good this year he’ll look to make big explosive plays, lower his pads and block or get tough hard yards on short down and distances or in the Red Zone, Rahmondre Stevenson also remains a huge asset to their offense.
Josh McDaniel’s has taken the Patriots offense to new levels with the Drake Maye MVP debates, with the Will Campbell injury they lost one of their best offensive linemen but with Will Campbell’s return he can help keep Maye upright who has been sacked far too many times this year and was against the Chargers. The Milton Williams injury took off a key defender for over a month, with him returning against the Chargers he had a huge game, it will be a top 10 Patriots defense that has a chance to play even better ball against a very difficult Texans opponent at Foxborough, it’s very likely that weather affects this game for the warm dome team Texans.
