Denver Broncos vs Jacksonville Jaguars – Week 16 Preview & Prediction

Bo Nix, Courtland Sutton, Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos, winners of 11 straight and outright number 1 seed in the AFC, host Trevor Lawrence, Liam Coen and the Jacksonville Jaguars in a huge showdown with playoff implications. Pat Surtain showed the world last week why he is still the best cornerback in the league on a diving interception on Jordan Love, in front of Christian Watson, a play that flipped the game vs the Packers last week and swung the momentum in the Broncos favor, going on a 20-3 run to win the game by 8 points.
The Micah Parsons injury was significant but that didn’t impact the Broncos defense which has a league leading 59 sacks with Jonathan Cooper, Zach Allen and Nick Bonitto being game wreckers week in week out, with the enforcer Dre Greenlaw behind them and All-Pro safety Talanoa Hufanga in the back end. The Jaguars have consistently beat up on inferior opponents this year, with their number 1 ranked rushing defense thanks to Arik Armstead, Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker on the front line and Foyesade Oluokun, Devin Lloyd behind them to clean things up and defend the pass very well.
The Travis Hunter injury takes away speed and a versatile weapon on defense but Brian Thomas Jr has stepped up this year and so has Parker Washington, Jakobi Myers and the elusive running back have a stellar season Travis Etienne. The run defense should have an even better chance for success with their not being great duos for this team, the Brayshul Tuten injury and JK Dobbins injury taking two more great backs off the field who have had a ton of success this year.
The Broncos offense has elite receiving threats, the emergence of the former Oregon Duck and 4th round pick Troy Franklin in his second year has opened up the passing attack and makes this one of the more fascinating matchups with no true “superstars” on either offense but a lot of up and coming fresh talent starting to make names for themselves.
This will be a great game with divisional and seeding implications for the Playoffs, enjoy this Blitz With Blinder Video hosted by Josh Blinder.
