22-year-old arrested after posing as Minnesota high football player

A Minnesota community is reeling after learning that a 22-year-old man fraudulently enrolled at Lake High School and even joined the football team.
Authorities say Kelvin Luebke used a false identity and fake documents to gain admission into the school, bypassing the district’s enrollment safeguards. Typically, students must provide a birth certificate, proof of residency, and immunization records to register. How Luebke managed to get past those requirements remains under investigation.
The scheme came to light over the weekend, and Luebke was arrested Sunday. Reports confirm that Luebke appeared on the school’s football roster and participated in team activities. Several students also verified his involvement.
In addition, an online recruiting profile under his name remains active on NCSASports.org, a platform used by high school athletes to showcase themselves to college recruiters. That page lists him as a player at Forest Park High School during the 2023 season.
Luebke is now being held in the Anoka County Jail on charges that include theft and lewdness. The school district has banned him from all properties and says it is working closely with local police to determine how the enrollment protocols failed.
