Steelers QB Skylar Thompson Robbed in Dublin

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Skylar Thompson was the victim of a robbery Friday night in Dublin, Ireland, according to multiple reports.
Steelers spokesperson Burt Lauten acknowledged the situation in a statement, saying, “We are aware of a situation involving Skylar Thompson on Friday night in Dublin. We will have no further comment at this time as we are working with NFL security to gather more information regarding the incident.”
The Irish Independent reported that Thompson was assaulted and robbed during the incident and briefly hospitalized with minor injuries. Despite the scare, he was back with the team on Sunday.
The NFL Players Association also released a statement: “We are aware of the incident involving Skylar Thompson in Ireland and are relieved to know he is okay. The NFLPA is actively gathering more information and working to understand the full circumstances surrounding what took place. As always, our priority is the health and safety of our player members — especially as we continue to work on player protections and well-being while playing international games — and we will continue to support Skylar in any way he needs.”
Though currently on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, Thompson traveled with the team for Sunday’s 24-21 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
The 28-year-old quarterback, a seventh-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in the 2022 NFL Draft, joined the Steelers in January.
