Oregon State Football Player Faces Concerning Allegations of Domestic Violence

Oregon State’s football program is facing a troubling situation as sophomore cornerback Exodus Ayers, one of the Beavers’ top defenders, has been accused of domestic violence by a former girlfriend.

The allegations, filed in a police report with the Corvallis Police Department this week, come at a pivotal time in Ayers’ career and have cast uncertainty over his future with the team.

Katherine Daniella Rodriguez, an Oregon State senior, filed for a stalking protective order against Ayers, which was temporarily granted on Aug. 6 by Benton County Circuit Court Judge Joan Demarest.

According to court documents, the order prohibits Ayers from contacting Rodriguez or her immediate family, either directly or through another person. A hearing to determine whether the order will become permanent is scheduled for Sept. 8.

Rodriguez claims Ayers engaged in “physical abuse” during their seven-month relationship, allegations she also alluded to in a viral TikTok video posted in July that has since gained more than 10 million views. While the video did not name Ayers, Rodriguez confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive that the allegations involved him.

Despite continuing to practice with the team, Ayers was held out of Oregon State’s season opener against California on Aug. 30 and was not seen on the sidelines.

For Ayers, a rising talent in the Beavers’ secondary, these allegations present a deeply concerning situation that threatens not only his standing with Oregon State but also his future beyond football. As the legal process unfolds, the spotlight will remain on both Ayers and the program as they navigate the fallout from these serious accusations.
