A former teacher and coach in North Carolina’s Caswell County Schools is facing serious charges involving a student, according to the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies announced that on Aug. 28, 60-year-old Dennis Bannick was arrested and charged with four counts of sex offense with a student.
Caswell County Schools Superintendent Lance Stokes confirmed that Bannick was employed with the district from August 2005 until June 2008. During that time, he worked as a teacher and also served as the head football coach at Bartlett Yancey High School.
Following his arrest, Bannick was booked into the Caswell County Detention Center. Officials said his bond was set at under $75,000.
