Police Arrest a Teenager in Minnesota High School Football Game Who Brought a BB Gun to the game

A 17-year-old male was arrested Thursday night after bringing a BB gun to a football game at Stillwater Area High School, prompting a swift police response. You can see the video below of the police taking immediate action.

According to Superintendent Mike Funk, students at the game reported hearing the suspect mention he was carrying a gun around 8:30 p.m. Officers were quickly alerted and located the individual, who was found in possession of a BB gun. The suspect, identified as a 17-year-old from White Bear Lake, was not affiliated with the school community and was immediately taken into custody at the scene.

Oak Park Heights Police Chief Steve Hansen stated that the teen fled on foot after officers approached him but was quickly apprehended. The suspect was transported to the Washington County jail in Stillwater.

The arrest follows a tense and tragic week in Minnesota, coming just one day after a shooting at Assumption Catholic Church in Minneapolis. The shooting, which occurred during Mass on Wednesday, resulted in the deaths of two children and left 18 others wounded.

The Oak Park Heights Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the football game incident. Authorities are working to determine whether the confrontation at the game is connected to any broader concerns.
