The brother of a former NFL Player was Killed in Front of his Kids while Vacationing in Puerto Rico
A Greensboro, North Carolina family is mourning the loss of 39-year-old Noah Amerson, who was shot and killed while on vacation in Puerto Rico.
According to reports, the tragedy occurred on June 20 during a robbery at the rental home where Amerson and his family were staying near San Juan. Police said several individuals arrived at the property in the early morning hours, and Amerson was shot while trying to protect his loved ones during the home invasion.
Investigators in Puerto Rico have confirmed that a suspect is in custody on an unrelated robbery charge. Authorities in Puerto Rico arrested 24-year-old Elias Perez Cruz and charged him with first-degree murder earlier this week. Police say that hours after Cruz shot and killed Amerson, he assaulted another man and stripped him of his clothes.
Amerson was the brother of David Amerson, a former Dudley High School and N.C. State football star who went on to play in the NFL for Washington, the Oakland Raiders, and the Arizona Cardinals.
Please keep the Amerson family in your prayers.
