Georgia State Police Looking for Help in Fatal Hit-and-Run That Killed Star High School Football Player
The Georgia State Patrol is asking for the public’s help as it investigates a tragic hit-and-run that claimed the life of 16-year-old Ty’leal Glaser, a beloved student and high school football player at Sandy Creek High School in Fayette County.
The fatal incident occurred on the night of June 21 around 9:45 p.m. According to authorities, Glaser was on a private drive near the intersection of GA Highway 81 and Sons Drive when he was struck by a northbound Toyota RAV4. There was no crosswalk at the location where Glaser was hit.
Officials believe the vehicle involved likely sustained damage to the left headlight and additional damage along the driver’s side. The driver did not remain at the scene.
The loss of Glaser has left a profound impact on the Sandy Creek community. In a heartfelt message posted to Facebook, the school’s football team wrote,
“Our hearts are broken for this family, and we know this loss will be deeply felt across our team and school community.”
A funeral service for Glaser was held on Saturday, honoring the life of a young man remembered for his spirit and dedication on and off the field.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the vehicle involved to contact the Georgia State Patrol Troop D Communications Center at (770)-542-7201 or the McDonough Police Department at (678)-782-6309.
