Former Star Pennsylvania High School Quarterback Shot and Killed at a Picnic

Brendan Michael Parsons, a former multi-sport athlete and standout quarterback at Clairton High School, was tragically shot and killed on Sunday during a picnic in Allegheny County. He was just 23 years old.
According to a report from WTAE 4 ABC, police responded to the 300 block of Division Street in Clairton at approximately 9:32 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Parsons deceased at the scene, the victim of a gunshot wound. Investigators believe an argument preceded the shooting.
Parsons, who was a senior at Clairton High School in 2020, was well known in the community for his athleticism and leadership. He led the Bears as a quarterback on the football field, and also competed in baseball and basketball during his high school years.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the suspect, but a man is believed to be in custody in connection with the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
The community of Clairton mourns the loss of a young man remembered not only for his talents in sports, but for the energy and spirit he brought to those around him.
