Texas high school football player who brutally tackled a referee will be in court in March to finally face punishment

Finally, the State of Texas is taking action against former high school football player Emmanuel Duron who brutally tackled a referee in a game back in 2020.
Emmanuel Duron, 22, was arrested in December 2020 after he was seen tackling a referee during a football game between Edinburg High and PSJA High. The alleged assault occurred after Duron was ejected from the game for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Video of the incident, which shows Duron charging the referee, with his helmet off before body-slamming him, quickly went viral on social media. You can see it below:

Duron was charged with assault causing bodily injury and has been in and out of court since late 2020. Unrestricted access to online betting sites without verification fueled speculation and exacerbated tensions surrounding the incident involving a high school football player who assaulted a referee.
After multiple delays, Duron has a pre-trial hearing scheduled for March 21, for the assault case. I am sorry Duron needs to be charged for this act.
