Oklahoma Football Player Gentry Williams collapsed during team workouts on Thursday
Gentry Williams a Sophomore defensive back for the Oklahoma Sooners was hospitalized after collapsing yesterday during team workouts.
According to the school, who did not release his name, Williams suffered an “exertional collapse”, which is defined as the inability to stand or walk unassisted.
Williams was rushed to the hospital and later released. He is expected to recover at home.
The school released this statement to KOCO 5 News in Oklahoma.
“At the end of this morning’s OU football team workout, a player experienced an exertional collapse and was immediately attended to by the team’s medical staff,”
Williams had a solid freshman season racking up seven tackles and picking off one pass in 12 games.
