Three Bold Predictions: Drake Maye Goes Off, JSN is SHUTDOWN, and Pats D dominates

The wait is over.
The 2026 NFL season kicks off tonight with a Super Bowl LX rematch as the New England Patriots travel to Seattle to take on the defending champion Seahawks. Seattle dominated New England 29-13 in the Super Bowl, but this is a different Patriots team, and I believe Drake Maye is ready to prove it.
My prediction: Patriots 24, Seahawks 14.
Here are my bold predictions for tonight’s game.
Drake Maye Throws 3 Touchdowns
This is the night Drake Maye announces that he has officially arrived.
Seattle’s defense gave Maye nightmares in the Super Bowl, but New England has made significant changes around its young quarterback. The Patriots added A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs while improving the offensive line with Alijah Vera-Tucker and a healthier Will Campbell.
I expect Maye to come out aggressive, attack Seattle downfield and use his legs when necessary.
Prediction: Drake Maye throws for three touchdowns and leads New England to 24 points.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba Gets Shut Down
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is one of the biggest problems the Patriots have to deal with. The reigning Offensive Player of the Year led the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards last season.
But New England has Christian Gonzalez.
Gonzalez held Smith-Njigba to just four catches for 27 yards on 10 targets in Super Bowl LX.
I’m expecting another frustrating night for Seattle’s star receiver.
Prediction: Smith-Njigba finishes with fewer than 75 receiving yards.
Patriots Defense Forces 3 Turnovers
This is where I think the game is ultimately decided.
New England’s defense has something to prove after Seattle controlled the Super Bowl. I expect the Patriots to attack Sam Darnold, disguise coverages and force Seattle into mistakes.
Prediction: The Patriots force three turnovers.
One of those turnovers could completely change the momentum of the game.
The Patriots Get Their Revenge
Seattle will have the home crowd, the championship banner and the confidence that comes with being the defending Super Bowl champion.
But New England has spent the last seven months thinking about what happened in February.
Tonight, I believe the Patriots come out with something to prove.
Drake Maye throws three touchdowns. The Patriots defense forces three turnovers. Jaxon Smith-Njigba is held under 75 yards.
And when the final whistle blows, New England walks out of Seattle with the statement win.
Final Score: Patriots 24, Seahawks 14
Bold prediction? Absolutely. But don’t be surprised if Drake Maye and the Patriots send a message to the entire NFL tonight.
