Justin Jefferson Injury Update: How serious is the ankle injury to the Vikings star?

The Minnesota Vikings received encouraging news Monday regarding star wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s 23-16 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jefferson was injured late in the first quarter and initially attempted to remain on the sideline. After spending time in the medical tent, however, he eventually went to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Jefferson finished the afternoon with two receptions for 32 yards before leaving the game.
While the initial injury was concerning, Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell provided a positive update Monday.
O’Connell said Jefferson has an ankle sprain and that the team had avoided anything long-term. The Vikings will monitor the swelling and evaluate how Jefferson progresses throughout the week.
