13-Year-Old Football Player Julian Amador Dies After School Bus Overturns

A Texas community is mourning the loss of a 13-year-old student who died Thursday after a Sanger Independent School District school bus overturned.

The student has been identified as Julian Amador, who succumbed to his injuries following the crash in Sanger, Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Sanger ISD school bus was traveling north on Huling Road shortly before 5 p.m. when it veered off the roadway. The bus struck a culvert before rolling over.

Amador was transported to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton following the crash. According to information from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website, he died from his injuries less than an hour after the accident.

The bus was carrying four students at the time of the crash. The 38-year-old bus driver and the three other students were treated at the scene for minor injuries, according to DPS.

The circumstances surrounding what caused the bus to leave the roadway remain under investigation.

The death of Amador has left his family, classmates and the Sanger community grieving the loss of a young life.

As investigators work to determine exactly what happened, those who knew Julian are left remembering a 13-year-old student whose life was tragically cut short.
