North Carolina High School Football Player Dies After Suffering an Injury in a Game

The North Carolina high school football community is mourning the death of a junior varsity player who suffered an injury during a game last week.

Davion Fewell died from injuries sustained during Thursday night’s game against a rival team, according to his family.

Guilford County EMS confirmed that emergency crews responded to Page High School in Greensboro at approximately 7:17 p.m. Thursday. One patient was transported from the scene.

Fewell’s family later confirmed that the young football player died as a result of injuries suffered during the game. Authorities and school officials have not released additional details regarding the nature of the injury or what led to the medical emergency.

The Northwest Guilford football program, which competed against Page, expressed its condolences to the Page community following the tragic news.

“We are thinking of the Page Pirates after the loss of a young life,” the team shared on social media.

The tragedy comes just weeks after another devastating incident involving a young football player in the area. Last month, a Northwest Guilford middle school football player died several days after suffering a medical emergency during practice.

Fewell’s death marks another heartbreaking loss for the North Carolina football community in recent weeks.

As the investigation and circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing, friends, teammates, coaches and members of the Page High School community are mourning the loss of a young athlete whose life ended far too soon.

The Fewell family is now surrounded by friends and members of the community as they cope with their devastating loss.
