What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I first put the pads on in junior high and honestly the first thing that made me fall in love with the game were two things: physicality and brotherhood. Being able to move a person against their will and do it with your best friends right next to you is truly something special!

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Some of my favorite moments include being able to make my first collegiate start in my home state of Iowa against Iowa State and being able to complete in the NCAA FCS playoffs this past season.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

I would probably say my grandpa. From being a small-town Midwest farmer and raising a family with 4 kids and many grandchildren, I would say that his work ethic and dedication to his family is what inspires me the most.
4.What do you love the most about the game of football? As stated, before what made me fall in love with the game was physicality and brotherhood. But as I’ve gotten older and understood more of the game, I’ve learned that football is sort of like chess, a game of strategy which I think is overlooked by a lot of people.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

I would probably say Joe Thuney from the Bears. I would love to pick his brain about different OL techniques that I can use to improve my game.

What are your favorite things about playing football for North Dakota?

I chose to come to North Dakota because Grand Forks is where my family began. My mom and her whole family were born and raised in Grand Forks, I feel a special honor and calling to carry on my family legacy here at UND.

What should we know about Liam Becher the person?

I am a person that is extremely passionate about family, faith and football. I am also a very goal oriented person. If there is something I want, I will scratch and claw my way to get it.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

I would probably say Outside Zone. On paper the play is designed to get stretch and get outside, but it also can cut a defense in half allowing the running back the freedom to make a vertical puncture upfield.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

“Good, bad or indifferent on to the next”, is something my offensive line coach says a lot. This quote sticks out to me because it fits well in football and in life, don’t let the highs get too high or the lows, too low.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get a player that is the same guy every day, who knows his job and knows how to execute his job with consistent physicality.

What stands out about your film the most?

Some things that stand out when watching my film are nastiness, stout in the run game and ability to get displacement, lateral movement in pass pro and effective striking.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

I would probably say Isaac Cariveau. He is a younger raw offensive lineman who stepped up and played this past year after an injury occurred. He shows impressive technique that is accompanied by brute strength and power. I am excited to play with him and the rest to the 701 Moving Co. this fall!
