A 15-year-old Star Football Player in Louisiana was shot and killed

A 15-year-old football player from Ville Platte High School was tragically killed in a shooting, according to the Ville Platte Police Department.
The victim has been identified as Javion Semien. Reports indicate he was on his way to football practice when the shooting occurred.
Police Chief A. Perry Thomas stated the incident took place just before 1 p.m. on Monday, May 4, near the intersection of Martin Luther King Street and Calcasieu Street.
Authorities confirmed that a 17-year-old suspect has been arrested. The individual was initially booked into the Ville Platte City Jail before being transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail, where he is being held on a $2.5 million bond. Officials also noted that the weapon involved was an AR-style pistol.
The investigation remains ongoing.
