What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I just love running around the street playing outside with my guys, friends, and family. And football is one sport I gravitated to.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
The camaraderie, the brotherhood, basically really the locker room, being a part of a family you know from all different parts of the world you know just being able to come together and being able to win for a team, nothing beats that. And the memories.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?
I honestly already hang out with one, Eugene Sims. He coached while I was playing there so being able to learn from him and perfecting my craft under him. I’m really grateful for that.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
I really don’t have a preference. I’m really versatile so being able to play at any position is a blessing for me so I really don’t have a specific preference on a play style or front style.
What stands out about your film the most?
Me being an aggressor and I’m a very great run defender. I’m able to do two gap and being able to recognize plays or blocking schemes and just being able to think faster on my feet.
What should we know about Broadarius Lewis the person?
Great guy, I’m a funny guy. You know I’m an energizer you know when I see team morale is down you know I’m trying to find a way to build the team morale. You know the energy of everyday practice. I try to bring juice even if I’m not feeling it myself so I feel like as a person I’m great and I’m humbling.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
The victories, even the loss come with their own problems, but it ended up being victorious after working so hard, to do that throughout the week to compete on Saturday and see that all that you’ve done and work hard for us is not in your hands, and your position so being able to leave that field with a victory and seeing my teammates and myself smiling that’s great for me.
Who is the most underrated player you played with and why?
I would say Joshua Ratcliff I played with him my 2022 year and when I first got to Southern Miss to throughout 23. Being able to see him because he was an interior defender as well, but he was a little bit on a shorter end, so seeing him move and being able to compartmentalize with what offenses had going on in their schemes and him just breaking it down to me. And I was able to understand it, you know the way he described it and broke it down to me was really easy.
What would the team get in a player like you?
You are going to get a very dependable person. I don’t mess up . I’ll take pride in that or at least try to, but I am human at the end of the day so I work hard and I show up. And come to practice I’m going to be the same person with the same consistency every day, same person, same energy and that’s that’s who I am. That’s what I bring.
