Lions vs Bears | Week 18 Preview & Prediction | Do The Bears Clinch The No. 2 Seed In The NFC?

Caleb Williams, Ben Johnson, DJ Moore and the 2025 NFC North Champion Chicago Bears face off against Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St.Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs, Aidan Hutchinson, Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions in a big game with playoff seeding implications for the Bears who will be the number 2 seed in the Playoffs in the NFC with a win at Soldier Field.
It’s still unknown how many of the Lions starters play Sunday, with the Brian Branch injury and Kerby Joseph injury the Lions faltered over the last 6 weeks when they had a chance to be in a win and in game this week. The Lions duo with David Montgomery and Gibbs is still the best in the league but they had no success a week ago and the Bears duo of D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai is turning into one of the best in the NFL.
Luther Burden had a breakout on Sunday Night Football against the 49ers and Colston Loveland had a huge game, with the Rome Odunze injury the Bears rookies have stepped up in a huge way. The Luther Burden injury is a story to follow and see whether he plays Sunday. The real heroes also on this Bears offense are Drew Dalman, Jonah Jackson, Joe Thuney, and Darnell Wright playing on possibly the best offensive line in the NFL.
Jameson Williams is having a tremendous season and with the Sam LaPorta injury it has been much welcomed by Lions fans, he’ll line up against either Jaylon Johnson or Nashon Wright and Kevin Byard in the slot at times, they’ll have to hold up in coverage as the Kyler Gordon injury has sidelined one of the best nickel’s in the league for most of the season. Tremaine Edmunds is back at linebacker next to TJ Edwards which helps, so overall Chicago is getting healthier towards the end of the season, they will need to get pressure on the quarterback from Montez Sweat and Austin Booker, those two will be matched up with Penei Sewell one of the best in the league.
Chicago is 6-1 at home this season and 5-4 on the road, they are holding opponents to 17.4 points a game at home while giving up over 30 on the road, this 2 touchdown differential would be huge if they can secure their path to the NFC Championship with a win at home led by their quarterback Caleb Williams who could be the first Bear with 4,000 passing yards.
