Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears – Wild Card Round – Game Preview & Prediction

Caleb Williams, Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears face Jordan Love, Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round of the NFL Playoffs at Soldier Field. An NFC North clash between the number 2 and the number 7 seed, The winner will move on to the divisional round and the losers season will end in heartbreak.
The Micah Parsons injury was devastating and changed everything for the Packers as they lost their next 3 games without him and could not sack Caleb Williams in their week 16 meeting that essentially clinched the North for Chicago. The Dovonte Wyatt injury took their best run stuffer off the field and put more of a burden on Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness to step up. they may not have their best receiver as well, who caught 2 Touchdown pass in their first matchup.
The Tucker Kraft injury has meant Romeo Doubs, Matthew Golden and Christian Watson become key players that need to step up. The Josh Jacobs injury limited him in the second half in week 16 is he going to be a factor in this game? Doubs fumbled the onside kick that gave the Bears a great chance to tie the game in their last matchup.
Malik Willis played well stepping in for the hurt Jordan Love but he also go banged up in the 4th quarter and left the game vs the Ravens. Injuries have plagued Chicago as well, the Kyler Gordon injury placed one of the best nickel corners in the league on IR, Tremaine Edmunds has missed most of the year but has returned the Luther Burden injury and Rome Odunze injury also present potential problems, but Burden played vs the 49ers and Lions and Rome Odunze and Kyler Gordon may return and start on Saturday night.
The Bears running game behind Joe Thuney, Jonah Jackson and Drew Dalman has been spectacular, Kyle Monangai has been a rookie sensation and D’Andre Swift eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing DJ Moore had the game winning touchdown catch on Keisean Nixon in overtime, Green Bay has to get production from Quay Walker, Edgerrin Cooper and Xavier McKinney in pass defense to limit the tight ends, Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet can take over a game like they did in the 4th quarter last week. Caleb Williams breaks the Bears single season passing record but fell short of 4,000 yards.
The Bears high powered offense is even more effective when their defense gets takeaways, Montez Sweat and Austin Booker need to get pressure on Jordan Love, the Zach Tom injury has impacted the Packers offensive line, but Tom is slated to return.
The Jaylon Johnson injury has him looking about half of himself and the Bears other corner Nashon Wright has been picked on, with the CJ Gardner-Johnson concussion Kevin Byard will be relied upon to be near perfect in run support and coverage and a takeaway may be critical from him or Jaquan Brisker or TJ Edwards. This will be an incredible game and the teams second playoff meeting in 15 years, the last time was the 2010 NFC Championship game, the stakes could not be higher as this is one of the biggest Bears vs Packers games in history.
