Former Memphis Football Player Shot and Killed by Georgia Police

Le’Andre Thomas a former starting safety for the Memphis Tigers is dead after being shot to death by a police officer in Georgia.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, 27-year-old La’Andre Thomas of Jackson, Mississippi, died after an officer shot him on December 4.
Police responded to a report of an assault on a female who was walking her dog. When the police reviewed the video evidence, they were able to identify Thomas as the perpetrator. Officers would eventually find Thomas at a nearby bus stop.
When police approached Thomas, he pulled a handgun out of his waistband and reportedly pointed it at law enforcement officers.
That is when Thomas was shot. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but did not survive the gunshot.
