Incarnate Word Overpowers HCU as Huskies Close Season with 31–10 Defeat

HOUSTON- Houston Christian University was dominated in its final contest of the season, dropping a 31-10 decision to University of the Incarnate Word on Saturday afternoon at Dunham Field at Husky Stadium.  From the start, the Huskies just could not match the same energy as the Cardinals.

Playing in his final game with the Huskies, Rodney Dansby had 13 tackles to lead the defense. The senior linebacker concludes his HCU career second all-time in tackles with 446, averaging 10 per game over 44 games in his four years with the Huskies.

Redshirt Freshman Running Back Xai’Shaun Edwards rushed 12 times for 40 yards. He ends his season as the first player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single-season, finishing the campaign with 1,019 yards as well as a single-season mark of 12 rushing touchdowns.

But that was not enough as the visiting Cardinals ran away with the game. HCU finishes the 2025 season 2-10 overall and 1-7 in Southland Conference play.
