Former Ohio State Football Player Jordan Hall Arrested on Felony Assault Charge

A former Ohio State University running back has been arrested and charged with felonious assault following a violent incident at a Columbus gas station, according to court records.
Jordan L. Hall, 34, is accused of critically injuring a man during an altercation on Sept. 20 at a Speedway gas station on the city’s Northwest Side.
According to a probable cause affidavit, surveillance footage showed Hall arriving at the Speedway located at 744 West 5th Avenue around 1 a.m. in a blue Chevrolet Blazer with two other individuals. Hall and another passenger briefly entered the gas station before returning to the vehicle.
When they came back, Hall allegedly opened the rear passenger door, pulled the unidentified male victim from the car, and punched him in the face. Hall then got into the front passenger seat, but as the vehicle started to leave, it stopped suddenly. Hall exited again and struck the victim two more times, the affidavit states.
The victim fell backward after the second blow, striking his head on the ground. He was rushed to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in critical condition.
The Columbus Police homicide unit is investigating the case, court documents show.
Hall was booked into the Franklin County Jail on Sept. 21 and was awaiting his first court appearance.
Hall played for Ohio State from 2009 to 2013 before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, though he was released prior to the start of the 2014 season.
