What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I became a football player after going to my older brothers football games growing up. The physicality is what drew me. Also, watching Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators motivated me to be apart of a team and play football.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

One of my favorite moments was in youth football, going to play for a national championship in Florida. Also, my senior year in high school going undefeated regular season, and just having great camaraderie throughout the whole team.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My father has inspired me the most. He immigrated here from another country when he was young and was raised by his siblings. He showed me that working hard and staying humble breeds success.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

I am looking for a better season than last one. Our coach always says, “when you win, the standard increases”. Overall expectations of the team, and of myself, is to not be complacent and go beyond than what was accomplished last season.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

I would love to hangout, meet, and talk ball with Jason Kelce. Not only is he a veteran of the game, he is an amazing, funny person outside of it. He is someone I strive to be.

What are your favorite things about playing football for Stony Brook?

I love playing football for Stony Brook because of how much it feels like home. Being from New York, I always felt like Stony Brook was a second home to me. Also, the culture we have created here gets me excited for the future of Stony Brook football.

What should we know about Niko Papic the person?

Niko Papic, the person, is caring, easygoing, and extremely blessed to be where I am today.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

Inside zone is the best scheme in America. When all 5 OL are moving the line of scrimmage with the best RB in our conference, Roland Dempster, it’s a great thing to watch on film.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

First, I always pray to God whenever there are challenges or hardships in my life. And with that I feel to be more levelheaded, think positively, and adapt to the situation.

What would a team get in a player like you?

The team would get a player-first teammate, hard worker, a person dedicated to their craft, and an eagerness to learn.

What stands out about your film the most?

In pass blocking, I think my timing, striking and hand fighting stand out. In run blocking, I think my feet being able to get in a position to block, and then giving the extra push is what stands out.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

I understand offensive line is never going to get the credit or stats they deserve so I feel I need to mention the whole offensive line. More names on the Stony Brook offensive line are on the rise and need to be looked at.
