Former Dallas Cowboy Kelvin Joseph charged in deadly Richardson crash
Former Dallas Cowboys defensive back was in an accident this morning that left a person dead.
Just before 5 a.m., Richardson police responded to a fatal crash in the northbound lanes of North Central Expressway near Park Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 27-year-old Cody Morris of Plano, the driver of a motorcycle, had died at the scene. No other vehicles were located in the immediate area.
Around 5:30 a.m., the Plano Police Department received a call from Kelvin Joseph Jr., a former Dallas Cowboys cornerback residing in Allen. Joseph reported being involved in a crash with a motorcycle while driving a BMW sedan.
During their interaction with Joseph, officers suspected he was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop and render aid resulting in death or injury.
Joseph, 25, is currently being held in the Richardson Jail. As of now, no bond has been set.
