Former NFL Star Adam “Pacman” Jones Arrested for Assaulting a Police Officer

Former NFL cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested early Saturday morning in Kentucky and now faces multiple charges, including assaulting a police officer, according to arrest records.

Jones, 41, was taken into custody by the Covington Police Department and booked into the Kenton County Jail at 1:51 a.m. He has been charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct in the second degree, and third-degree assault of a police officer.

According to a police statement, officers responded around 12:44 a.m. to a disturbance at The Second Story Bar involving a dispute between a customer and an employee. Upon arriving, officers were directed to a vehicle attempting to leave the area. A traffic stop was conducted, and Jones was identified as a passenger in the car.

Police allege that during the investigation, Jones exhibited signs of intoxication and behaved in a disorderly manner, leading to his arrest. While being processed at the Kenton County Detention Center, Jones allegedly assaulted an arresting officer, resulting in a minor injury.

“The Covington Police Department takes incidents of this nature very seriously,” the department said in a statement. “We are committed to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of all who live in or visit Covington. Adam Jones is being held to the same standard of conduct as any other individual in our community.”

Jones, a former standout at West Virginia and longtime NFL defensive back, has had several previous off-field incidents throughout his career. As of now, no bond has been set.
