Former Gophers Football Player Charles Rogers Dies During Brooklyn Marathon

Charles “Ace” Rogers, a former University of Minnesota defensive back, tragically passed away over the weekend while participating in the Brooklyn Marathon.
Cardiac Arrest Mid-Race
According to the New York Post, Rogers suffered cardiac arrest approximately eight miles into the race. Emergency personnel responded quickly and transported him to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Rogers was 31 years old. He is survived by his wife, Sydney.
The University of Minnesota football program expressed their condolences on Monday through their official X (formerly Twitter) account, honoring Rogers’ memory and offering support to his loved ones.
