The numbers continue to rise and fall over the years for FCS players, and HBCU players. The most recent Historically Black College and University (HBCU) football player drafted prior to the 2025 NFL Draft was Isaiah Bolden from Jackson State University. He was selected by the New England Patriots with the 245th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. In the 2024 NFL Draft, no HBCU players were selected, marking the second time in four years that this occurred.
