What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
When I moved from Saint Louis to Houston, TX my mom was a mail carrier and on her route she came across a little league team and signed me and my brother up and I loved the game ever since.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
My favorite moments are the team bonding events and getting to know my teammates and understand what motivates them and their “why” on why they play football.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
I want to achieve being a football player at the highest level for a long time.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?
I would hang out with Von Miller so I can learn more ways of bending the edge and timing my get off on the snap of the ball.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My mom inspires me the most. Mom because she’s a single mother and raised 4 kids by herself and she never showed a sign of defeat when I know what she was doing was hard. And my brother is my role model someone who stepped up and became a father figure while being only 3 years older than me and made me into the man I am today.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
I don’t have a specific scheme me personally I just like to play ball.
What should we know about Jessie Evans the person?
I’m a guy who likes to go all out when it comes to the game who’s a good guy on and off the field who really just treats everyday like I still have a point to prove.
What stands out about your film the most?
I’ll say what stands out on my film the most is my high motor and my desire to run the to the football even when the ball is going away from me.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
Whenever I’m dealing with a challenge I keep my faith and let God guide me through whatever I’m dealing with.
What would a team get in a player like you?
A team would get a guy who shows up everyday to work, a guy who’s not a problem off the field, who is fun to have around and has a love for the game and is willing to learn new things to improve my game.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
What I love most about the game is the connections and people you meet over time while playing the game.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
The most underrated player I’ve played with would have to be Isaiah McElvane, he’s a guy who’s a student of the game and goes out and treats every play like it’s his last and is productive while doing it, great leader to young guys in the room and a hard worker
