Former NC State football star arrested for reportedly inflicting serious bodily injury to his 5-month-old son

Former NC State football standout Tyler Baker-Williams a defensive back who would go on to play in the NFL with the Chargers was arrested and charged with child abuse.
According to court records, the 25-year-old former defensive back is charged with child abuse after, according to warrants, he “intentionally inflicted serious bodily injury” to his 5-month-old son in March.
The child was taken to a hospital by his mother, and Williams acknowledged his son’s injuries in an interview.
The mother found significant bruising on the alleged victim in this case, brought the child to the hospital where the child had a fractured toe, fractured rib and a fractured ankle.
The judge set Baker-Williams bond at $200,000. He is scheduled to appear in court again later this month. If convicted, he could serve up to nearly 33 years in prison.
