What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

It just came natural to me as a kid, I always enjoyed playing a sport where I could hit people.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moments were my very first collegiate start vs Kansas State, and being able to finish my career playing in the SEC.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I’m looking to go play for a team and make an impact. Though I understand it’s a difficult task to start in the NFL, it’s something I’m confident in my ability to do.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

I would hangout with Deacon Jones, I loved watching his film in high school because I played both OL/DL and he was a pioneer for the game. I have a lot of respect for him.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My wife inspires me the most. She’s been there for me at my lowest times and always believed in me even when I didn’t in myself. She’s more than I could’ve ever asked God for, and she is the best earthly gift I’ve received.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

Any kind of inside zone, they’re simple downhill runs. Easy to adjust on the fly with pressure, and the success of the play comes down to you moving another man against his will.

What should we know about Ethan Miner the person?

Christ is everything to me. Without Him I wouldn’t be where I am now, through the highs and lows of life I always know that my purpose in life is in serving and glorifying Him regardless of if my career in football continues or not. I owe everything to Him.

What stands out about your film the most?

I think the thing that stands out the most is my consistency, and football IQ. Though I may be “undersized” I don’t play like it, and I use my leverage to advantage against larger opponents.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

Adversity and suffering is a part of life, as well as football. I rejoice in them knowing that my trials show the genuineness of my faith in Christ.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get someone who gives everything they have every day. Perfection is the standard and nothing else is acceptable.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the camaraderie. Theres nothing better than going to war with your brothers, after all the preparation you go through as a player: conditioning sessions, countless practices and film sessions.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Cannon Boone (OG/OC), he’s extremely athletic, and has great football IQ. I think he’s gonna make a big impact for State this year.
